RNG represented a large general contractor in a dispute with one of its subcontractors arising from a public works project for Long Beach Community College. The subcontractor pursued claims arising from alleged extra work and numerous disputed change orders involving demolition and abatement work on the $23 million project. While RNG's client asserted defenses and offsets, it pursued no counterclaim. Following a multi-day AAA arbitration, RNG partner David Nemeth obtained a total defense of the claims on behalf of the general contractor, as the subcontractor was awarded $0.00, and RNG's client was awarded recovery of all AAA fees and costs as well as its attorneys' fees.
